Our Church Leader

Rev Martin Walker leads the church supported by a wonderful and welcoming church family. Martin is passionate about Jesus and helping others to come to know him. Married to Nicky, a psychotherapist, they have two daughters, Megan and Grace and a lively cocker spaniel, Cody!

Before entering ministry, Martin served as a Chief Superintendent with Sussex Police. He came to faith through the Alpha Course at St Mary’s Reigate where he later sensed God’s call to ordained ministry.

Martin trained for ministry at St Mellitus College in London, serving his curacy at Church Crawley – part of the HTB Network. In 2022, Martin and Nicky moved to Greystoke to begin the next chapter in the life of the church.

Outside church life, Martin loves spending time with family and friends. He enjoys climbing, ski touring and walking the fells, volunteering as a member of Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.
